stereo·tom·ic

adj: the art and science of cutting three-dimensional solids into particular shapes

We are an architecture and design firm deeply rooted in the pragmatic – we seek originality through problem-seeking. Our designs begin with asking the right questions, exploring the deeper connections between people and their surroundings and probing for underlying or unidentified issues that lend to original creativity.

Architecture is uniquely utilitarian in that it is both inherently public and practical – yet also profoundly inspirational and influential in how we function in society. It can be a foundation for how to live a more thoughtful and sustainable existence, gently steering habits and routines, and creating harmony between vision, space and nature.

Our designs are ingrained in the sites in which they inhabit. Inspired by the natural world and guided by stereotomic principles, we craft modern, striking spaces that seamlessly integrate with their surroundings, redefining the intersection of aesthetics and sustainability.

Inspiration & Awards

Jarrett’s love of drawing and building things developed early and by the age of seven he knew he wanted to be an architect. His art professors at the University of Wisconsin were a huge influence in “seeing” the world and guiding his personal expression, and later mentors Mike Webber (ceramic artist), Prescott Muir (architect/artist), Anne Mooney (architect) and John Sparano (architect) further cemented Jarrett’s design philosophy, process and aesthetic.

With an emphasis on creative problem-solving, Jarrett’s design process explores the deeper connections between people and their surroundings. The result is human-centered sustainable architecture rooted in strong, simple, site-specific plans that push the boundaries of conventional design.
